Beard Balm is an ideal tool to have in your beard grooming kit if you have a short-medium length beard.
During beard growth, your hair can get a little wild and beard balm will help tame those pesky fly-aways.
Shea butter locks in moisture, while beeswax pulls beard hairs together to create a fuller and well-groomed appearance.
We recommend applying a small amount of beard balm after applying beard oil for best results.
I ordered 3 beard balms for my husband Rory after he tagged me in an ad for "Smoked Cherry." I have been searching for a rich pipe tobacco smelling beard balm for him, it's a scent I love. This one comes super close, it has so many different notes to it, it's a subtle masculine fragrance that doesn't overpower the senses. Even with how much I love that one, it ranked #2 of the 3.
The Embered Nights is hands down, the best smelling beard balm I have ever bought him (and I have bought a LOT). When the package arrived I opened it first and I couldn't stop smelling it. It is everything you love about a late summer / early fall night. The smell of a bonfire, roasted marshmallows and a spicy cinnamon. But don't confuse this with a potpourri pumpkin spice knock off, the tobacco and mossy earthy undertones make this incredible smell linger in your senses even after you walk away, and come back wanting more. Seriously, I told him I was going to beard balm the tips of my hair so I could smell it all day I loved it so much! LOL
The 3rd balm I got ranked 3rd but not because it wasn't good. Not by any means. I just had my socks knocked off on the first one so it was hard to top that! We got Southbound, because my husband is a Georgia boy and how could we pass up pecan pie and his favorite blackberries. I was surprised to admit I actually could smell the "leaves" in this, which tempered the dessert-ish scent of the berries & sugared pecans. This is a nice, comforting everyday kind of scent that is subtle and sweet.
All in all, we give 5 out of 5 stars on all 3 of these scents. As far as actual use, he said that it took very little to be effective and it had a great hold. Some balms just kind of make your beard greasy and smell good, but these had a slightly firmer hold (but not as firm as a wax!) so it kept some of the longer pieces that like to get squirrely later in the day in place much better.
Definitely have repeat customers at our house! (I promised if they smelled as good as they sounded I would shout it from the rooftops to all who could hear, and this is me doing just that!!)
Sincerely, The Bowen House. ❤
